Wedding season in North Queensland kicks off around April/May when the summer sting eases and the cyclone season is over. Before the party though, comes the planning.
If you’re holding an outdoor wedding, that doesn’t offer you a set package, you will have many decisions to make. As well as the dresses and flowers, menu and music, celebrant and booze, you also need to consider how many toilets your event will need, as well as things like additional lighting so your guests aren’t queuing in the dark, water and power supply, and you may even need crowd control barriers to corral your guests and define zones within your site.
Nowadays, portable amenities are far more modern and comfortable than they used to be. While we still offer standard single, rows and blocks of portable toilets and urinals, there are more luxurious options available and a five-star option for events of 300+ guests. Today, we are able to offer a VIP air-conditioned toilet block that actually looks great from the outside too, deluxe toilets for events, including toilets with internal lights, as well as external handwashing stations to prevent queuing at the toilets, pop up marquees and pamper tents to offer shade from the weather and a comfortable waiting area, and additional fluro lighting towers that attach externally to the toilets. Our deluxe toilet block includes a solar panel on its roof, so that the toilet lights turn on via sensor at night.
Once you’ve organised your portable toilets, remember you’ll also need to think about the smaller details – like hand soap, paper towel and toilet paper. Our deluxe toilet package includes the soap, towel and a couple of toilet rolls, and we can supply more for a fee or you can add loo rolls to your own shopping list.
We also offer shower blocks and ensuites, which are ideal for camping weddings where the guests stay overnight, and we can supply water tanks and pumps, generators and effluent holding tanks (with covers to make these look as nice as possible) because we know that not every site has running water or electricity. (Be sure to consider this when planning your wedding costs.)
We are experienced working with various event planners and wedding venues, however we are happy to offer advice on how many toilets you might need and what other equipment you might need for your site. Trust us, you don’t want to have your guests remember your wedding as ‘the one where we had to pee in the dark’.
